Day 6 |
HIS PURPOSE IS SALVATION |
|
|
"Now unto him who is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy" (Jude 24) |
|
The Christian write C.S. Lewis once wrote, "...in this world everything is upside down." Often the unjust prosper and the uncaring succeed while those who strive to uphold God's values find themselves left behind. This is not a new experience, in Psalm 37 David expressed just these feelings. He experienced long years of injustice and persecution as we shall see later in the quarter. We must always remember that God's main aim in dealing with us as his children is to ensure that we will experience eternal life with him. That future life will be a continuation of the relationship we have built now, without the temptations and injustices. Jesus' constant plea is, "Rely on me", "turn to me", "let me live in you and together we will come through all the hurts and disappointments we experience now, smiling and confident". Look up John 15:1-11. If we talk to Jesus sharing all our thoughts, needs, wants, good and bad he can begin to sort out our lives in a way no one else can. |

Do you find prayer difficult? Do you find it hard to know
what to say? Think about Paul's words in Romans 8:26-28. God
is the only one who keeps our confidences totally private,
who accepts us without criticism or condemnation. Jesus gave
us a promise to sort out and care for the lives placed in
his hands. Look up Matt. 6:33 and than read the whole
passage from verse 25 to verse 34.
