About these lessons
The Way to God's Heart is a series of bible lessons - one a day for 13 weeks - following the Old Testament books of 1st and 2nd Samuel. They were written for teenagers and each week's lessons form a unit for group discussion.
Why study 1st & 2nd Samuel?
Who knows what life has in store for each of us? Happiness, excitement and fulfilment but also challenges, changes and crises. We love the first three. What about the rest? Can we master an unexpected challenge? Can we stay calm and secure in the face of tragedy or disaster? Can we cope with failures, lost hopes or thwarted desires?
The books of 1st and 2nd Samuel show us, in the lives of God's people, how we can come through the most appalling events and know that our God is with us. We will see that the life he has given us is good because experience proves that, "all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."(Romans 8:28)
Life is not a means of testing God's people but of teaching them. God does not require success but rather faithfulness and in coping with life's challenges, changes and crises the key lies in a relationship with him who alone does not change.
We hope that as you study you will learn how to cope with challenges and crises without going under, and more that you will glimpse the secret of eternal happiness and security - the way to the heart of God.
